Its been a long long time

I am a MAJOR horse ride/lover. I have been with horses ever since I was 7. Me and my friend ride her horses some times and I love riding with her!

This year for my 13Th birthday I got my ears pierced for the fires time ever. My mom's friend did them because she use to do them for a living! And when we were driving down to her house I said, mom I don't think I have ever been scared to go to Margo's house. She had some earring's for me to pick out and I picked out the one's that were green. I was crying when I was just picking out the earring, and then I sat down and in a green chair because I was dizzy. Then when I was done she told me that I have to spin them or otherwise if i didn't then I would have to have surgery to get them unstuck, and that's when I got scared.

I hope to post on here once a week!

Fear Factor - Girl Scout Style

Tonight I got to try Fear Factor. . . Girl Scout style. I was kind of freaked out and wasn't sure if I wanted to go. I remember watching the show with mom until one day she threw up. No more fear factor in our house. And now mom wants me to do it. Gross . . . why do I have to do this?

First my friend McKayla and I tried different baby foods. I hated the peas!

Then we had a been bag toss. Hey you can't go wrong there right? Wrong! Depending upon the color and number you landed on you had to eat and drink gross stuff. I got stuck eating Witches Warts (raisins), Animal Snot (mini marshmallows that were slimy from being sprayed with water), a drink of Diarrhea (lime juice with peanut candy marshmellows in it), and last but not least Cat Poopies (chocolate candy rolled in small nuts - looked like it came out of a cat box). I could not even do this one. Just the thought of it grossed me out.

Well just when you think it can't get worse it did. They had live crickets in an aquarium. I hate bugs. If you wanted a toy you had to reach for it. Mom had to bribe me by saying she would pay a couple of dollars. After about 20 minutes I finally did it. Squeeling and all. Later on I got hungry and mom told me if I did the cricket thing again that she would get me Subway. Fifteen minutes later I finally did it a second time.

When all was said and done I had fun. I don't know if I would do it again but it was fun.

May and June's Busy Schedule

National Arbor Day

National Arbor Day was different this year for us. It is not really even celebrated in our family nor is it really even mentioned. In fact I didn't even know what Arbor Day was. I kept calling it Harbor Day.
This year Mom thought it would be a good idea for me to learn about what Arbor Day is since in GS meetings we had just earned the Eco-Action badge. So when an activity came up and we were able to participate in it, we did. I was even able to bring Courtney as it was a community event.
West Haven City had a lot of trees that needed to be planted. Before we went we thought they were going to be seedlings or something small. Boy, were we wrong. These trees were big. Some were so big (like the pine trees) that they took 5 guys to bring them to a hole. Others were smaller and just a few of us could move them.
It was alot of work but at the end of the day we put about 5 trees in their holes and planted them.
We were rewarded with snacks and juice. We even received a shirt for all of our efforts. I would do this again!

Cross Country Skiing & Snow Shoeing

I learned how to Cross Country Ski this year. My Leader, Natalie, taught me how. She has lots of patience. I also went snow shoeing. I had snow shoed before with my mom but never skied. It really liked skiing as it was pretty fun. Natalie hurt her ankle at the top of the hill but I waited for her. We came down off the hill together.

I learned how to snowshoe last year at the Leader Daughter overnighter with Mom. She was really cold.

We had fun at Trefoil Ranch for the Leader Daughter overnighter this year too. I think I would like to try this again.

Cookie Time is finally over

Jessika is done selling Girl Scout Cookies. She did really well this year by selling approximatly 440 boxes. She wants to thank everyone who bought them from her this year. And to those that were unable to she appreicates your moral support too.
Jessika spent last Saturday with other girls from her troop selling cookies at the Sams Club in Riverdale. They did so well that they almost sold out all of the cookies that day.

It's Spring Time . . .

. . . And Jessika can hardly stand it. It seems that she is never in the house again. She is always with her friends outside. When she isn't playing with them she is riding her bike or walking the dogs around the block.
Jessika is doing pretty good in school this year. It has been a challenge for her but everything is starting to click. She likes her teacher so that always helps too.
Jessika has a completely full schedule this summer. She has four scheduled camps and we are looking at a 5th over-nighter in August. The one in August is a Mom & Me girl scout over-nighter where we get to be locked in the Hogle Zoo.
